The mat is made from 3mm thick rigid Acrylic with an outside diameter of 295mm and weight of 237g. Most mats are 2mm thick, with our mat at 3mm you gain the benefits of the extra density without the need to adjust the VTA. A label recess ensures your loved vinyl will mate perfectly with the surface.
 
The audio benefits of acrylic are well known....There's a reason high-end 'Audiophile' turntables use the material, especially in the platter for direct contact with the vinyl!
Different mat materials be it rubber, leather, felt, cork, or holographic snake oil infused carbonite, all 'colour' the sound of vinyl playback with their own unique sonic signatures. Acrylic being similar in mechanical impedance and properties to vinyl is generally regarded to give playback a less 'splashy', natural see through sound with improved mid-range and tighter bass. Our mats can be especially beneficial to turntables with MDF, glass or 'ringy' alloy platters.
