Our superb platter has an outside diameter of 295mm and weight of 1.5kg giving a benefit over the standard Rega resin platters by increasing the mass and therefore better speed stability through the flywheel effect. The overall height of the platter is 24mm with the working height from the sub-platter designed to enable direct platter to vinyl contact without the need for a platter mat. 
No adjustment of VTA needed with fitting, set up of the platter literally being a case of removing the old platter and placing the new one on.
 
The audio benefits of acrylic are well known....There's a reason high-end 'Audiophile' turntables use the material, especially in the platter for direct contact with the vinyl!
Different platter materials (and designs) be it resin, glass, MDF, various alloys or holographic snake oil infused carbonite, all 'colour' the sound of vinyl playback with their own unique sonic signatures. Acrylic being relatively dense while similar in mechanical impedance and properties to vinyl is generally regarded to give playback a less 'splashy', natural see through sound with improved mid-range and tighter bass.
